Michael Joseph Jackson known as the "King of Pop" who was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was an American singer, songwriter, producer and dancer. For more than four decades, his contributions and recognitions in the history of music and dance made him an international figure of popular culture. He is recognized as the "most successful musical artist of all time" by Guinness World Records. Through his stage and video performances, Jackson popularized a number of complex dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk, for which he gave his name. Although he died on June 25, 2009 in Los Angeles, his distinctive sound and style have influenced numerous artists of various musical genres.
