ABBA is a Swedish pop music group consisting of Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida), Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. The name "ABBA" is an acronym made up of the first letters of each member's name. The quartet formed in Stockholm in 1972, but only achieved international fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. Björn and Agnetha got married months before the formation of the group; Benny and Frida married in 1978. The four struggled with their artistic obligations while taking care of their new families. Their recordings had a commercial impact that led them to become the most popular artists of the time.
